Nebraska Advocacy Services, Inc. (NAS), The Center for Disability Rights, Law and Advocacy, uses a collaborative planning process in establishing a five year plan and developing annual objectives that includes input from staff, advisory councils, consumers, families, providers, policy makers and the general public.
Each year we set new objectives for our work and invite comments from all interested persons on our activities. Our priority areas under the current five year plan (2007 – 2011) are:
- Priority Area 1: Advocacy and Value-Based Education
- Priority Area 2: Public Advocacy and Policy Development
- Priority Area 3: Inclusion, Access, and Transition to the Community
- Priority Area 4: Isolated and Vulnerable Individuals
- Priority Area 5: Adult and Juvenile Justice Systems
- Priority Area 6: Statewide Awareness, Visibility and Presence
